Hi, this project started in the Spring of 2026 when a friend asked me to help make music for a video game they were making. When I opened a trial of some production software to start recording a few bits, I realised that I could track a few acoustic songs that I had written over the last few years.

They sounded better than I thought they would, and I realised that I might be able to make an album and so started working in earnest. I had been in bands before and we had recorded (with mixed results), but I had never had the ability to listen back in real time, or the ability to have total ownership of when something should be thrown away, and I decided to be ruthless. Anything that wasn’t honest was binned.

The songs and effort came together as I tried to learn the trades of a musician at the same time, often throwing away hours and hours of work until I landed authentically on whatever it was that I was trying to say. I hope that you like it and that it hits a nice melancholic spot for you but it’s fine if you don’t!

An explanation for the name - I grew up in London, opposite a playing field and the foxes would scream at night. I wanted to name this something honest and the memories of that felt honest.
